Home-made Creme Brûlée

Processed with VSCOcam with a6 preset

It’s a little ironic how my health-freak of a cousin loved making sweets even though she lectures my family every time any of us decide to indulge in desserts. She went through a phase of making creme brûlée and even bought a creme brûlée making kit that came with a mini torch and four ridged porcelain ramekins! When I visited her over the holidays, she taught me how to make the tasty creamy dessert and even let me use the torch. It was super simple and I didn’t take that long at all. All we did was mix a bunch of ingredients together, chill it, and then added sugar on it to torch! This was a little different than the conventional creme brûlée because it didn’t require a hot water bath or the oven. It was a hybrid between the traditional creme brûlée and flan.

Ingredients:

  • egg yolks
  • heavy cream
  • vanilla extract
  • sugar
  • thats it…

Whisk together the egg yolk, heavy cream, vanilla extract, and sugar! Pour it into the ramekins and chill for about an hour, sprinkle with sugar, torch it until the sugar melts and bubbles into a golden thin layer and voila!!!!
